The Qatar Philharmonic invites you to a special evening featuring the astonishing works of Beethoven, Haydn, and Arnold. The concert will include Beethoven’s Second Symphony, a piece that was mostly composed during his stay at Heiligenstadt in 1802, a period in which his deafness was becoming more pronounced. The orchestra will also perform Haydn’s Symphony No. 101, quirkily nicknamed “The Clock”, inspired by Haydn’s trips to London, in which you will notice something quite striking- a rhythmic pulse sound that sounds like an old clock. Arnold’s impressive Concerto No. 1 for Horn solo will be performed by the orchestra’s own, Peter Davida. The Philharmonic will be led by passionate German conductor Elias Grandy.
