Peter Davida

A native of Hungary, Peter has music running in his veins, and during his childhood his mother was concertmaster and father trombone player in the local symphony orchestra. This rich ancestry led to him starting to play the horn at the age of 10 at the local music school in Nyíregyháza.

Between 1987 and 1991, Peter attended the Zoltan Kodaly Conservatory of Music in Debrecen, culminating in him winning the National Horn Competition of Conservatories. He was subsequently invited to study at Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest under Professor Adam Friedrich.

Peter’s career took off in 1992 with a stint as principal horn player of the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra, working with renowned maestros such as Janos Kovacs, Lamberto Gardelli, Yuri Simonov, Erik Bergel and Rico Saccani.

During this time, in 1996, Peter won first prize in the International Horn Society’s Horn Competition. His horizon then broadened in 1998, after he was appointed section leader principal horn in the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.

In 2003, he also became a part time principal horn at the Budapest Festival Orchestra, led by Ivan Fischer. He has been featured on numerous CD and radio recordings. After Malaysia, Peter returned to his homeland to play with the acclaimed Budapest Festival Orchestra, until his wanderlust again returned, resulting in him joining the newly established Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra as principal horn in 2008.

Maias Alyamani

Maias is considered as one of the foremost Arab artists of today. The award-winning Violinist has performed as soloist and improviser all over the world with such leading musicians as Yo-Yo Ma, Daniel Barenboim, Gidon Kremer. He has done projects with Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Kremerata Baltica, Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna; Orchestra Royal de Chamber de Wallonie, Vienna Kamerata, Deutsche Kammer Philharmonie.

Maias has worked with leading Jazz/World-Music artists like Joe Zawinul, Fairuz, Asala, with notable appearances at Berlin Philharmonie, Konzert Haus, and Boulez Saal in Berlin, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Bozar in Brussels, Konzert Haus, and Musik Verein in Vienna.

Maias received many high-profile composition requests such as the Inauguration of Damascus Opera House, the Inauguration of Musheireb and Mathaf Museums, and Arab Olympic Games Opening Ceremony in Doha.

Together with composer Dana Alfardan, Maias produced the Onboard music of Qatar Airways, Lusail Stadium Launching-Music of World Cup 2022 among many others. He has successfully built a large following whilst popularizing classical music in the Arab world through his own compositions. Maias is a prolific recording artist and has released over 20 of his albums commercially.

Overseen by Winton Marsalis and collaborating with Dominick Farinacci, Maias has curated “Arabic Nights at Jazz at Lincoln Centre Doha” in 2014 and 15, presenting Arabic music fusions to new audiences. In 2017, Maias established MAjazz Band, specializing in Arabic Jazz/World Music. Maias graduated from Higher Institute of Music in Damascus in 2004, and earned his Master’s Degree at the Vienna University of Music in 2010. In addition to performing his original music, Maias performs modern oriental music compositions, and is considered as one of the top experts in this field. Maias is a regular invitee as a lecturer in Arabic music performing art by conservatories and music universities in Germany, France, Austria, Norway, Italy , Sweden, Lithuania, Belgium, Amsterdam, Russia among others.

In 2020, Maias started “MAestro”, an online-program on social media to speak and analyse music for Arabic Audience; “MAestro” has over 5 million views since April 2020.

Julia Korodi

Born into a musical family as the daughter of a Conductor and a Violinist, Julia began taking violin and piano lessons at the age of 5. She received her Bachelor and Master’s Degrees as a Violinist, chamber musician and Violin teacher at the prestigious Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary.

Julia has performed as soloist with several Hungarian orchestras and took part in numerous international music festivals, such as the Orchestra Institute of the Vienna Philharmonic, Lorin Maazel’s Castleton Festival, and many more.

Multiple prize-winner of the Hungarian National Chamber Music Competition in String Trio and String Quartet categories, she was also a member of the Dohnanyi Symphony Orchestra from 2004 to 2008. She is also a founding member and leader of the Vivart Chamber Orchestra.

Julia has been with QPO since its inauguration in 2008. In recent years, she has been active as an arranger, orchestrator and composer, exploring different fields and styles of music. She has a Masters Certificate in Artist Management from Berklee College of Music and has participated in several successful international musical productions.

Julia is a proud mother of two.

Anton Pavlovsky

Cellist of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, Anton Pavlovsky has been a veteran member at leading positions in many reputable orchestras in Russia such as the Russian National Orchestra, National Philharmonic of Russia, Svetlanov State Symphony, etc., appearing in major concert halls of Moscow, in Netherlands, Germany, UK, Switzerland, France, Belgium and Norway.

Anton Pavlovsky was born in 1985 in Ufa, Russia. He graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and completed his postgraduate studies under Natalia Shahovskaya. In addition, he had the privilege to work with such eminent artists such as Mstislav Rostropovich, Daniel Shafran, Mikhail Khomitser, David Geringas, Lluis Claret, and Eberhard Finke.

Anton Pavlovsky won his first Gran Prix at the age of 14 in 1999, at the M. and L. Rostropovich Open Competition. Ever since, he has been frequent prize-winners at international music competitions, among them the 58th Prague Spring International Music Competition and a Mahler Prize for the youngest finalist; the 5th UNISA International String Competition, and the 1st International Kozolupov cello competition, etc.

As a soloist, he performed with many orchestras including the Prague Symphony Orchestra, Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Staatsorchester Braunschweig, Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt, Svetlanov Russian State Symphony Orchestra, National Philharmonic of Russia, Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestrа, Saint Petersburg Academic Symphony Orchestra, National Philharmonic orchestra of Ukraine.

His 2013-14 season highlights a successful debut at the prestigious “Concertgebouw” in Amsterdam. Anton Pavlovsky is extremely active in chamber music, having performed recently alongside remarkable musicians such as Lilya Zilberstein, Sergei Leiferkus, David Geringas, Nikiya Mndoyants, Semyon Skigin, Nikita Boriso-Glebsky, Alena Baeva and others.

He appears frequently in recitals in Russia and throughout Europe, Asia and the post-Soviet Union states. His name has been featured on playbills of such major music festivals as Kronberg Cello Festival, Festival International de Colmar, “The Virtuosos of the Planet” (Kiev), and the Musical Olimpus Festival (Saint Petersburg). He has given master classes in many cities in Russia.

Anton Pavlovsky also earned his Master’s degree in opera and symphony conducting at the Gnessin’s Institute of Music under Vladimir Fedoseev. He studied conducting with Vladimir Ponkin and Valery Platonov, and has participated in a conducting master class with Teodor Currentzis.

In November 2015, he made his debut as a conductor at the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre (“Cinderella” by Jules Massenet) and in January 2017, he made his debut as a conductor at the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory.

Rony Moser

Rony Moser was born in Austria in 1981. He studied with Alois Brandhofer at the University Mozarteum Salzburg and with Gerald Pachinger at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz.
He has performed with several orchestras including the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Wiener Concert-Verein, OENM Salzburg, and under well-known conductors such as Ivor Bolton, James Gaffigan, Daniel Harding, Dmitrij Kitajenko, Fabio Luisi, Lorin Maazel and Marc Minkowski. From 2004 until 2008 he was Principal clarinettist of the Tyrolean Festival Orchestra Erl.

During his time playing with the Ensemble Penta Musica, Rony Moser received scholarships from the Herbert-von-Karajan Center Vienna and Gottfried von Einem Private Music Foundation. The ensemble toured throughout Europe, Asia and South America, and was invited to perform in Festival Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Nafplion Festival, Festival de Música de Morelia, the Philharmonie in Berlin, Vienna Musikverein, and International Foundation Mozarteum Salzburg.
Chamber music performances with renowned artists and ensembles such as Alois Brandhofer, Richard Galler, Johannes Hinterholzer, Michael Martin Kofler, Thomas Riebel, the Minetti Quartet and the Ensemble Penta Musica.

Since September 2008 he has been engaged by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra as Principal clarinetist and he has been teaching at the Qatar Music Academy since 2011.

Jihoon Shin

Flutist Jihoon Shin was born in 1987 in Seoul, South Korea. At age 11, she started playing the flute and already in her age of 12, she won major junior music competitions in Korea such as ‘Chosun daily newspaper music competition’ and ‘Music Journal Competition’.

Afterwards her competition achievements increased with her ‘2nd prize at Deutschehochschulwettbewerb’ in 2004, ‘Special prize at Kobe international flute competition’ in 2006, followed by ‘1st prize at Friedrich Kuhlau international flute competition’ in 2006. Going further she won ‘1st prize at Flute meeting international flute competition’ in 2007 and a ‘Special prize at Jean-Pierre Rampal international flute competition’ in 2008. She also won ‘1st prize and the best performer of the commissioned piece prize at NFA young artist competition’ in 2011. Jihoon was announced as the 1st prize winner of Severino Gazzelloni international flute competition in 2013.

She began studying the flute with Professor Soyoung Lee (Former principal flutist at Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra) in South Korea at age of 11. Later she went to Austria in 2002, Feldkirch landeskonservatorium to study with Professor Karl-Heinz Schütz (Principal flutist at Wiener Philharmoniker) with his proposal of studying abroad.

After one year of study with Professor Schütz, she began her bachelor degree in 2003, at Stuttgart Musikhochschule in Germany, with professor Jean- Claude Gerard. In 2007, she graduated Stuttgart Musikhochschule with Suma-Cum-Laude and went to Yale University in America for her Master’s degree work with professor Ransom Wilson.

After her graduation at Yale University, she entered SUNY Stony Brook to pursue her Doctorate degree in Musical Arts with professor Carol Wincenc, but because of her recent winning position at the Orchestra Accademia del Teatro alla Scala in Italy, she moved back to Europe in 2012.

While she was playing as the principal flute player at the orchestra of Accademia del Teatro alla scala, she began her Konzertexamen degree at Stuttgart Musikhochschule with Professor Davide Formisano (Former principal flutist at Teatro alla Scala in Italy), and has successfully finished her study in February 2015 with cum laude.

Before her orchestral career with Accademia del Teatro alla scala, she did many substitute works as a principal flute player at Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra in Korea and Albany Symphony Orchestra in USA. As a section flute player, she played at numerous concerts with Albany Symphony Orchestra and KBS Symphony Orchestra.

In 2006, she was selected as Villa Musica Ensemble member in Germany and participated actively until 2008. In 2013, she got the second flute position in Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. Ever since then she was invited numerous times as guest principal flutist at Seoul Philharmonic and Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.

She played many solo concerts with such as Wonju Philharmonic Orchestra in Korea, Russian Volgograd chamber orchestra, Madri chamber ensemble, and Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra, as well as numerous recitals in Korea, Germany, Greece, Italy and America.

Ms. Shin is also playing a volunteer recitals every summer for Gangwon province children who live at the location where it is hard to get any cultural advantage. During her time at Yale University, she taught New Haven Public School students in Music in Schools Program of Yale School of Music. She was also invited as a main faculty member of Yale Morse Summer Music Camp in the summer of 2010 and 2011. In 2014 and 2015, she was invited as a faculty member of Falaut Campus and launched her first CD with Falaut.

Other than this, she was invited for Masterclass and Recital in Nazarje, Slovenia and Tenerife, Spain in 2015-2016. Ms. Shin was also one of the main scholarship student of Gang-won province government in Korea from 2003-2013.

Currently Ms. Shin is a flute player at Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, and she teaches masterclasses around the world and plays many concerts as a soloist as well as a chamber musician.

Kee Guan Ng

Born in 1980, Ng’s musical interest began with the popular music scene as a guitarist, keyboard player and songwriter. Ng’s vision, interest and experience in music broadened as he gained orchestral expertise from his hometown Penang Symphony before progressing to the Malaysian National Symphony as Principal Timpanist. During this time, he was also a member of the Asian Youth Orchestra, Commonwealth Youth Orchestra and Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra.

In 2000, he proudly received his ATCL Diploma for Piano. By this time, and for the next year, Mr Ng studied timpani and percussion with Paul Philbert and Gerald Novak (Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra). From here, he furthered his study at Richard Strauss Konservatorium in Munich with Adel Shalaby for a year.

Under the tutelage of Torsten Schönfeld and Dominic Oelze (Staatsoper Berlin), Mathias Müller (Gewandhausorchester Leipzig), and Edith Salmen, Ng received both Diploma and Konzertexamen degrees for Percussion at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Rostock, where he was awarded the Horst-Rahe-Stiftung scholarship for 4 consecutive years.

Before he participated in the world famous ARD Competition in Munich, he won the Gasteig Soloist Competition (2002) with prize winners’ concert recorded by Bayerischer Rundfunk radio station, and Hochschulwettbewerb for Duo and Trio (2006) in Germany. A series of quartet concerts (2 pianos and 2 percussion) were performed including a debut at Konzerthaus Berlin.

Thereafter he focused on a year of apprenticeship with Nürnberger Sinfoniker, substitute in various orchestras in Germany, teaching, CD recordings, solo recitals, concerto soloist with orchestras before he joined the newly founded Qatar Philharmonic in 2008. Over the years, Qatar Philharmonic has had concert tours in various continents as an ambassador from Qatar.

Ng produced EDM and pop songs for USA and Asian countries besides performing classical music, with first EP named KGD Crazy Dance, and an album CHOOSE by Las Vegas singer Avis Ellis – including labels such as StreetVoice, Broken Records, PhilHarmonie, and online streaming at Spotify, iNDIEVOX, MOOV, JOOX, Apple Music, Youtube, Amazon, Deezer, Google Play, iHeartRadio, Napster, Pandora, Tidal, KKBOX, friDay, LINE Music, QQ Music, Kugou, Kuwo, Netease, Yinjie, Xiami, Migu, Soliton, Omusic, myMusic, iTunes, Traxsource, Beatport, Naxos Music Library and many more, with artistic name KeeGuanDrummer or KGD, and 奇源鼓手 in Asia.

Gideon Seidenberg

Born in Germany in 1981, Gideon Seidenberg was a scholarship holder of The German National Merit Foundation. He studied french horn in Detmold, Berlin and Salzburg with Professor Palm, Professor Höltzel, Professor Dallmann and Profesor Vlatković.

In addition to national competitions, Gideon won also several international ones: 2002 – European Music Prize (Aix les Bains), 2003 – International Brass Competition (Jeju), 2003 – European Conservatory Competition (Essen).

Since 2008, he is a member of Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra as co-principal horn.

From 2004 to 2008, he worked in the State Theatre Nuremberg and in the Munich Radio Orchestra. As guest, he played with most of the major Orchestras in Germany and was thrilled to have been a regular extra player in the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and ensemble modern.

He is a passionate natural horn player and fan of historically informed performances, reading literature and his favourite newspaper F.A.Z.. He likes haute cuisine and has been active at German chess championships for many years.

Ludwig van Beethoven

Ludwig van Beethoven (/ˈlʊdvɪɡ væn ˈbeɪtoʊvən/ (listen); German: [ˈluːtvɪç fan ˈbeːtˌhoːfn̩] (listen); baptised 17 December 1770 – 26 March 1827) was a German composer and pianist. Beethoven remains one of the most admired composers in the history of Western music; his works rank amongst the most performed of the classical music repertoire. His works span the transition from the classical period to the romantic era in classical music.

Egle Valute

Egle Valute was born in 1991, in Klaipeda city, Lithuania. At the age of 6, she began her violin studies with teacher-methodist Kristina Kupsiene at Eduardas Balsys Gymnasium of Arts in Klaipeda city. In 2018, she graduated with Master’s degree in Violin Performance and Violin Pedagogy studying with Professor Christian Altenburger at University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

In the years 2015/16, Egle participated in the “Erasmus+” exchange programme to study one year Master’s degree at Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse de Lyon in France with Professor Marianne Piketty. Egle is a prize winner and active participant of various competitions and festivals, such as: “Musique aux 4 Horizons” in Ronchamp (France), “Les Saisons” concert series with violinist Marianne Piketty, and actress Irene Jacob in Paris (France).

Loisiarte festival for music and literature where she played together with musicians Christain Altenburger, Thomas Selditz, Patrick Demenga and Franz Bartolomey in Langenlois (Austria), “Cully Classique” (Switzerland), Wels Modern music festival (Austria), Kaunas festival’08 (Lithuania), “Moscow meets friends” (2007, Russia).

Egle is also a 3rd prize winner of International competition “Gradus ad Parnassum” (2007, Lithuania), Diploma winner of International August Dombrovski violin competition (2008, Latvia), 1st prize winner of Republic violin competition of Raimundas Katilius (2009, Lithuania), and 2nd prize winner of Republic violin competition of Jonas Urba (2010, Lithuania). She has also performed as a soloist with various orchestras: Kaunas Symphony orchestra, “Rassiskaja camerata”, “Camerata Klaipeda”, Klaipeda’s chamber orchestra.

She has also taken part in various master classes with Professors: Zakhar Bron, Petru Munteanu, Christian Altenburger, Galina Turchaninova, Marianne Piketty, and Coosje Wijzenbeek. In the years 2008, 2009 and 2014, she was a scholar of Mstislav Rostropovich, Haus Marteau and SYLFF Tokyo Foundations. In July 2015, Egle was invited to participate as a guest member on a tour with chamber orchestra “Kremerata Baltica” founded and directed by violinist Gidon Kremer.

Since 2015, Egle has become a member of Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra.
