Christophe J. Leroux

Born in 1978 in France, cellist Christophe Leroux came to Doha in 2008 as the Qatar Philharmonic orchestra was created.

His studies took him beyond the borders of his native France; after graduating from the prestigious Conservatoire supérieur de Paris, he went on to hone his technique and musicality in the USA and Germany.

Having the chance to hold the solo cello position of the Jeunesses Musicales world orchestra from 2000 to 2002, he decided to dedicate himself to orchestra.

That led to playing in the Mozarteum orchestra before getting a position as cello tutti in the QPO.

He plays a french instrument made by Nicolas Caussin around 1850.
