Merve Kenet-Bulun was born in Istanbul in 1977. She graduated from the Universty of Istanbul State Conservatory in 1997, where she studied with Selcuk Kundakci. After graduation she went to Germany and started to study with Professor Matthias Buchholz at the Highschool of Musik, Cologne. She played with the West Deutscher Rundfunk Koln Radio and TV Orchestra from 2001 until she came to Qatar in 2008. In 2003 Merve studied with Professor Hartmut Lindeman in solo performance at the High School of Music Detmold, department Munster, in Germany. he was invited to play with the Bergischer Symphoniker as a viola tutti and later as principal viola from 2004 to 2007.

The musicians with whom Kenet-Bulun had master classes include Professor Bruno Pasquier with a scholarship from the French government in France in 1994; Professor Bruno Giuranna with a scholarship from the Istanbul Symphony Orchestra Association in 1996 in Sermonetta, Italy; and Professor Thomas Riebl with a scholarship from Austrian Embassy Istanbul in 1997 in the Salzburg Mozarteum Academy. She has played in many orchestras: the Istanbul Symphony Orchestra as soloist, Aachener Symphony Orchestra, Borusan Philharmonie Turkey, Sinfonietta Koln as principal and tutti and Neuss Kammer Akademie. She taught in 2004 at the Landes Youth Orchestra in Dusseldorf and in 2008 at the Maerkisches Kreiss Youth Orchestra, where she trained young musicians for chamber music and orchestral playing.
