Kamil Musaev was born in Ukraine and grew up in Uzbekistan. He began playing the cello at age ten and at the age of thirteen he won First Prize in the Central Asia Young Artists Competition.
Mr. Musaev studied with the celebrated Russian cellist Daniil Shafran and legendary Professor Eleonore Shoenfeld at the University of Southern California. Later he studied and graduated from the Hochschule fuer Musik und Theater Muenchen.
Mr. Musaev was invited to perform in the Aspen Music Festival and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, where he performed under James Levine, Lorin Maazel, Donald Runnicles, David Zinman, Yuri Temirkanov, Hugh Wolf, Michael Stern, Kurt Sanderling, Christoph Eschenbach and others.
Kamil Musaev has won the Grand Prize in the American String Teachers Association Solo Competition and the Kingsville International Competition, and he has performed as a soloist in the United States and Europe.
