Edita Fabek was born in 1971 in Zagreb, Croatia. She started her musical education in her home city, finishing it at the Zagreb Music Academy in 1993 in the class of Professor Stefano Passaggio. Following graduation in Zagreb she moved to Vienna to continue her studies with Professor Wolfgang Klos, completing her master diploma in 1998.
Throughout this period she participated master courses of many famous viola players and teachers such as Wolfram Christ, Wilfried Strehle, Walter Kuessner, Tanja Schneider, Yoseph Gutmann and Alexander Uszinsky.
After graduation in Vienna Edita moved back to Zagreb, where she held the position of solo viola in the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra for ten years.
Besides playing in an orchestra Edita has a special interest and love for chamber music, for which she has to thank to her chamber music teacher, Valter Dešpalj. Stradivari Sextett- Habisreutinger and Wiener Instrumental Solisten are just two of the ensembles she has performed with through her musical career.
