Angelika Bunke was born on the 31st of October in 1974 in Dresden, Germany. She grew up in a musical family, with first violin lessons at the age of five. From 1993 to 1999 Angelika studied violin at the Academy of Music Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden with Professor Manfred Scherzer, earning orchestra musician and violin teacher diplomas.

Since 1999 Bunke has participated in several courses about baroque music in Italy, Germany and the Netherlands with Stanley Ritchie, Anne Schumann and Enrico Gatti. From 2002 to 2005 she contracted as a violin player in the Brandenburger Symphoniker and Neubrandenburger Philharmonie in Germany. From 2005 to 2008 Angelika studied viola at the Academy of Music and Theatre Rostock in Germany with Professor Felix Schwartz, earning an orchestra musician diploma. Since September, 2008, she has been a viola player in the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra.
